Now my blog upgrade to 2.2.1 from 2.1.3. I use Fantastico to upgrade my blog. It fast and easy upgrade. No need to upload wordpress script manually using ftp.

You just need login to your hosting cpanel where your blog host. Find Fantastico icon. Click wordpress and you will see you using the latest wordpress or not.

Before your upgrade to new wordpress make sure backup your database and switch back wordpress default themes.

Using Fantastico to upgrade just work if your blog first install using Fantastico.

Reason I upgrade wordpress to latest version.

• Atom feed validation fixes
• XML-RPC fixes
• Widget backward compatibility fixes
• Widget layout fixes for IE7Page and Text Widget improvements

And the important one because I upgrade to wordpress version 2.2.1 there got some security issues about:-

• Remote shell injection in PHPMailer
• Remote SQL injection in XML-RPC Discovered by Alexander Concha.
• Unescaped attribute in default theme
