Avoid indexing of files
November 20th, 2007 Posted in Guide, Windows XP

Windows XP creates indexes from all the drives to accelerate the search of files but it uses unnecessary sytems resource if you are barely using Windows search. To disable service, go to the Control Panel, click on “Administrative tools” and call under “Component Service” the “Service”. Finally click on ” Indexing Service” and open “Properties” through the context menu. Change the “Startup type “to” Disabled.
